3.5 hour workshop 1:00-4:30pm

Discover and explore creative and fun ways to create original textiles through giving yourself permission to play. Using textile paint and mixed media surface design techniques to create a unique palette of cloth for fabric collage, quilting or art quilts. Enjoy exciting and often unpredictable ways to play with paint and tools creating textures and effects that can enhance the surface with marks, patterns, textures and layers of color and tone. In this workshop we will focus on creating unique colorful and textured fabrics. A variety of techniques will be demonstrated including direct painting, gel plate printing using found objects, over printing, stenciling and simple resists. Simple silk screen techniques. Open to all levels. No experience necessary. Some supplies included. Min 4- max.10 students
